Collaborating with thread collective architecture, with interior design by Dan Fink Studio, the essential design + build team recently completed a new working environment for a national media company that feels residential, rooted in history and libraries, and of things old and new. Located in a landmark office building in Union Square, the offices provide expansive views of the city scape. Glass and steel bookcases, fabricated by Jens Veneman Fabrications, were used as wall partitions to allow for light and openness. In selecting materials the design teams aimed to balance both vintage and modern ingredients in oil-rubbed bronze, brass, painted steel and walnut.
